Creating Digital Holy Spaces
Explorations and Architectural Constructions of 'Sacred Spaces'
This workshop involves practical exploration and reflection on what characterises so-called "sacred spaces" and how these can be experienced, accessed and even constructed through creative architectural experimentation.
The workshop draws on insights from church space pedagogy and combines these with individual constructions of a virtual sacred space using digital architectural tools and VR glasses.
- Eligibility: students, teachers in schools and churches / religious communities
- Language: German / English
- Time: 2.5 – 3 hours | upon agreement
- Fees: 300 – 600 CHF | upon agreement
VR glasses will be provided.
Workshop leaders:
Prof. Dr. Thomas Schlag (URPP «Digital Religion(s)», University of Zurich) is a theologian with a research focus on religious education, church theory, and pastoral theology, with implementations of technology in religion.
BA Christian Schlag («URPP Digital Religion(s)», University of Zurich), is a master's student in architecture at the University of Liechtenstein. His professional interest revolves around virtual and augmented reality and their potential significance for the creation of religious spaces.
